SBI UPI Service Down: The State Bank of India (SBI) on Thursday said the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system of the SBI briefly faced a technical issue, causing a decline in transactions. The Bank posted a note on X at 7.45 am, saying that the issue was expected to be resolved by 8 am today.
"We are facing intermittent technical issues in UPI, due to which some customers may face temporary declines in UPI services.
Expected to be resolved by 08:00 Hrs IST dated 16.10.2025. Customers may continue to use UPI lite services for uninterrupted service. We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers," the SBI wrote on X.

Second Outage In SBI UPI Services In 10 Days
This was the second outage reported with the SBI UPI services. Earlier, on October 6, the State Bank of India faced similar technical issues on UPI platforms.

Meanwhile, according to data released by the National Payments Corporation of India, as of September 2025, the UPI recorded 1,963.34 crore transactions worth Rs 24.89 lakh crore.
