Sovereign Gold Bonds Scheme 2023-24: If you want to buy gold cheaper than the market rate, then a great and safe opportunity has opened for you from today (December 18). The RBI's Sovereign Gold Bond is being launched today.

According to RBI, an investor can apply to invest in Sovereign Gold Bond from today i.e. Monday. This issue will open for five days from December 18. This is a special scheme, where the government gives commodity investors a golden opportunity to buy gold at cheap rates.

Price to buy SGB 2023-24

Last Friday, RBI said that the Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) Scheme 2023-24 Series-3 will be open for investment from December 18-22, 2023. As per RBI's statement, the price of gold bond of 999 purity is Rs 6,199 per gram.

Get extra benefits, if you pay online

If you make online payments for investing in gold bonds, then you are going to get benefits. The Central Government has decided to give a discount of Rs 50 per gram from the face price to the investors who apply online and make digital payments.

Where to buy Sovereign Gold Bonds

You can buy SGB i.e. Sovereign Gold Bonds through Scheduled Commercial Banks (except Small Finance Banks, Payment Banks and Regional Rural Banks), Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL), designated post offices and stock exchanges - National Stock Exchange India Limited (SGB). Can buy through NSE), Bombay Stock Exchange Limited (BSE).

What are Sovereign Gold Bonds

Sovereign Gold Bonds are government securities denominated in grams of gold. They are the ultimate options for those who don't want to hold physical gold. As an investor you have to pay the issue price in cash or online and the bonds will be redeemed on maturity. Investment in SGB is safe, as the Bond is issued by the Reserve Bank on behalf of the Government of India.
