There are still thousands of people who are waiting for their income tax refund. For such people, an alert has been issued by the Income Tax Department and it has been told that ITR refund will come only in validated accounts.

The Income Tax Department on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) said that the refund will be credited only to the validated bank account. In such a situation, everyone should check the validation of their bank account by visiting the e-filing portal.

How long does it take to get a refund?      

If you have filed your ITR following all the rules, then usually you get the refund within six months. However, now the refund process has become much faster than before.         

You will receive a mail as soon as the refund is issued by the IT department. You can also monitor by visiting the Income Tax website.

Also told that if your bank account is already validated then it should be validated again due to change in your bank account details.

How to validate your account on the Income Tax portal?

1. First of all you have to go to the Income Tax website.

2. After this log in with your details.

3. After logging in, go to the profile section.

4. Select 'My Bank Account' there.

5. After this you can revalidate your account or add a bank account.

However, even if the bank branch is merged or shifted somewhere else, there is a need to revalidate the account.
