Stock Market Holiday on Guru Nanak Jayanti: The Indian stock market will observe the holiday on Friday i.e. November 15, on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti. It will be a long weekend for traders and investors as equity markets will have a routine weekend holiday on Saturday and Sunday following the Guru Nanak Jayanti Holiday. The stock market will open on Monday i.e. November 18.
Guru Nanak Jayanti is one of the most auspicious days for Indians, it is the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism. He was born in 1469, and he is the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. There will be no trading or settlement in the equity, derivatives, and securities lending and borrowing (SLB) segments on Friday at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE.

Stock Market Holiday In November
The stock market will be closed on November 20 After this stock market holiday, the markets will be closed next week on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, owing to the Maharashtra Assembly General Elections. The next stock market holiday will be on Christmas, December 25, 2024. This will be the final market holiday in India this year.
Stock Market Operating Hours
The Indian stock market is open on weekdays from Monday to Friday from 9:15 am to 3:30 pm. There is also a pre-open session from 9:00 am to 9:15 am on regular trading days.
Commodity Markets To Be Partially Open
The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will be partially open for the evening session from 5 pm to 11:30/11:55 pm on November 15, 2024. On the other hand, India’s largest agricultural commodity exchange, the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) will remain closed.
