Stock Market Holiday On Holi 2025: The domestic equity benchmark indices – Nifty50 and Sensex – will observe holiday for the festival of Holi, meaning trading activities will remain closed on Friday, i.e. March 14 on NSE and BSE. Trading in equity derivatives and securities lending and borrowing (SLB) will remain suspended for the day as well. In Addition, trading in the currency derivatives and electronic gold receipts (EGR) segments will also remain shut on March 15.

Not only trading activities but banks in several states will remain closed on Friday, i.e. March 14. Considering the Holi celebration in the national capital region, the Delhi Metro will remain inoperational till 2:30 pm.

Banks will be closed on Holi (Bank Holiday On Holi 2025)

Holi is an important public holiday in many states, so banking services will also be affected. According to the Reserve Bank of India’s 2025 holiday schedule, banks in certain areas will be closed from March 13 (Thursday) to March 16 (Sunday), leaving accounts closed for three days on Holi and the following weekend. On March 14, public and private sector banks will be closed in selected states. However, online banking, ATMs, and digital payment systems will remain operational.

Delhi Metro services will be suspended till 2:30 pm

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMC) has announced a change in the schedule for Holi 2025. On Friday, March 14, Metro train services on all lines, including the Airport Express line, will be suspended till 2:30 pm. This is a departure from the usual schedule, where service usually begins at 5:00 am. These trains will leave the terminal station at 2:30 pm and thereafter operate on a normal schedule. Passengers wishing to travel in the morning are advised to make alternative arrangements.
