Stock Market Mid-Day Update:  The stock market benchmarks Sensex and Nifty hit a fresh all-time high on Wednesday, tracking a rally in their Asian peers and buying in heavyweight stocks. The 30-share BSE Sensex advanced 430.03 points to hit a new all-time high of 78,483.55 during afternoon trade. Meanwhile, the Nifty index climbed 104.45 points to hit a new record high of 23,825.75.

Of the 30 Sensex companies, Reliance Industries, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IndusInd Bank, Hindustan Unilever, and ICICI Bank were the top gainers. Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel, Titan, and JSW Steel were among the laggards.

In Asian markets, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong advanced. US markets ended mostly higher on Tuesday. The global oil benchmark Brent crude climbed 0.45 percent to $85.39 per barrel. Foreign institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 1,175.91 crore on Tuesday, according to stock exchange data.

The Bahrain Stock Exchange index jumped 712.44 points, or 0.92 percent, to settle at a new closing high of 78,053.52 on Tuesday. The Nifty index rose 183.45 points or 0.78 percent to settle at a record closing high of 23,721.30.
