Subhadra Yojana: PM Narendra Modi will launch the Subhadra Yojana, a women welfare scheme of Orissa state government, on his birthday, September 17th. Under the Subhadra Yojana, which is meant to economically empower women, eligible women will be given Rs 10,000 annually in two installments. This financial assistance will be provided over the course of five years, that means the total amount will be Rs. 50,000. Prime Minister will launch the scheme from ths state capital Bhubaneswar.

Eligible women to get Rs 10,000 every year

Under the Subhadra scheme, women will receive an installment of Rs 5,000 twice a year, totaling Rs 10,000 annually. This benefit will continue for the course of five years. The Orissa government will provide an debit card to women, making withdrawing process easy. Within every Gram Panchayat and urban body, the government will provide an additional amount of Rs 500 to 100 women who undertake the maximum digital transactions under the scheme.

Eligibility and non-eligibility for the Subhadra Yojana

Women between the ages of 21 and 60 will be eligible to be benefitted under Subhadra Yojna. As per reports, over one crore women in the state will benefit. The woman applying for the scheme must be a resident of Odisha.

Non-eligibility

Women receiving monthly assistance of Rs. 1,500 or more or annual assistance of Rs. 18,000 or more from any government scheme like pension, scholarship, etc. will not be eligible. If the woman or any of her family members is a sitting or former member of Parliament or Legislative Assembly.

- Women paying income tax can not eligible to apply.

- If women is an elected public representative of any urban local body or Panchayati Raj institution, she is not eligible.

- If the women is temporary or permanent employee or pensioner.

- If she is selected to any government department/undertaking/board/central government/state government.
- If the woman's family owns more than 5 acres of agricultural land and more than 10 acres of non-irrigated land.
- If the woman owns any four-wheeler except tractor, small commercial vehicle, mini truck,  or any other light vehicle.

Where to get Application Form

Women can get free of cost application form Anganwadi centers, block offices and Jan Seva Kendras. . The government will create a 'Subhadra Society' to monitor the scheme, which will function under the Department of Women and Child Development.

Document required to apply

- Aadhar card
- The beneficiary's mobile number should be linked to her Aadhaar.
- The beneficiary should have a DBT bank account.

 After filling out the form, it will have to be submitted with the relevant documents to the Anganwadi Center or Block Office.
