Tata Motors stated on Monday that its overall international sales increased by 2% to 3,29,847 units in the June quarter. The firm sold 3,22,159 units in the April-June quarter of FY24.
In a statement, Tata Motors said that international wholesale sales of passenger cars fell 1% year-on-year to 138,682 units in the first quarter compared to the previous year.

In the April-June quarter, Jaguar Land Rover sales reached 97,755 units, a 5% increase over the same period last fiscal year. In Q1FY25, Tata Motors and Tata Daewoo Group's global wholesale sales of all commercial vehicles stood at 93,410 units, a 6% increase over Q1FY24.

Mercedes-Benz sales

German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz stated on Monday that it sold 9,262 units in India in the first half of 2024, a 9% increase over the same period last year. This is the company's highest half-year sales in the country, owing to strong demand across sectors and the availability of volume models.

Mercedes-Benz India stated in a statement that the company sold 8,528 units in the January-June 2023 period, its previous highest half-year sales.

The company intends to introduce six new products in the second half of 2024 (H2). In the first half of 2024, SUVs accounted for 55% of sales, while luxury vehicles (TEV) priced over Rs 1.5 crore accounted for 25% of total sales, it added.

The SUV segment witnessed strong sales of the GLA, GLC, GLE, and GLS models, while the sedan range – which includes the A-Class, C-Class, LWB E-Class, and S-Class – topped customer preferences for luxury sedans.
