TCS Salary Hike: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest private-sector employer in India, has made a big announcement for its more than 6 lakh employees. The company said it will increase the salaries of 80% of its workforce starting September 1, 2025. This salary hike will apply to employees ranging from new recruits to those in Grade C3A. Earlier last month, TCS had announced plans to lay off more than 12,000 mid-and senior-level employees.

In an email sent on August 6, TCS CHRO Milind Lakkad and CHRO-designate K. Sudeep wrote, "We are pleased to announce salary revisions for all eligible associates up to Grade C3A and equivalent, covering 80% of our employees. This will be effective from September 1, 2025."

TCS Salary Hike: Last Year, Employees Got 4.5% to 7% Increment
In the previous increment cycle, TCS gave its employees a salary hike ranging from 4.5% to 7%, while top performers received double-digit increments. However, the company has not disclosed the average salary hike for the current year.

TCS, a Tata Group company, is the largest private-sector employer in India. As of June 2025, Tata Consultancy Services had a total workforce of 613,069 employees. The company operates from 202 offices across 55 countries. In terms of market capitalisation as well, TCS is the biggest company in the Tata Group.

TCS Salary Hike Date: Increment Announcement After Layoff Plans
The announcement of salary hikes from TCS comes at a time when the IT industry is facing a cautious environment. Indian IT companies are grappling with concerns over slow revenue growth and the impact of tariff and AI-driven changes. This has also affected the company’s stock, which has been on a continuous decline since May 2025.
