NPCI International Payments Ltd (NIPL) on Wednesday introduced UPI acceptance for online bookings at ''At the Top, Burj Khalifa'' in collaboration with NEOPAY and Emaar Entertainment. Dubai is home to millions of Indians, and lakhs visit the iconic city every month. The development enables Indian visitors to book experiences at the world''s tallest building through its official website, the international arm of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) said in a statement.
NIPL, NEOPAY Partnership
Expanding on NIPL's partnership with NEOPAY since 2022, Indian travellers can now use UPI-enabled apps for merchant payments across the UAE.
As one of Dubai's most popular attractions, 'At the Top, Burj Khalifa' draws a significant number of visitors from India.
NPCI noted that tourists can now conveniently book and pay for their experiences via the official website using UPI before they even arrive.

Ritesh Shukla, MD and CEO of NPCI International, said, "By enabling UPI acceptance for online bookings at At the Top, Burj Khalifa, we are making it easier for them to use a payment method they know and trust while planning their visit, even before they arrive in the UAE".
NIPL International Expansion
NIPL was incorporated on April 3, 2020, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of NPCI. In recent years, the body has introduced UPI services in many countries. Singapore, UAE, France, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Bhutan, Nepal, Greece, and Cambodia are among the countries where Indians can use QR-based payments.
Additionally, the services were enabled in many international iconic tourist destinations.
As NPCI''s international arm, NIPL is devoted to deploying NPCI''s indigenous, successful real-time payment system, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and card scheme (RuPay) outside India.
