Parag Desai, the Executive Director of Wagh Bakri Tea Group and owner of Wagh Bakri Tea brand, has passed away at the age of 49 years, as per multiple reports. He was survived by wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha.
As per media reports, Desai experienced a fall just outside his residence, resulting in a brain hemorrhage on October 15. This unfortunate incident occurred as he attempted to escape from street dogs that had attacked him.
The family was promptly informed about the situation by a vigilant security guard, and Desai was immediately taken to the nearby Shelby Hospital for initial treatment. Following a day of observation, he was subsequently transferred to Zydus Hospital for the necessary surgical procedure.
According to sources cited by The Times of India, Desai passed away in a private hospital in Ahmedabad on October 22, following a seven-day period during which he was on a ventilator.
Parag Desai, the offspring of Rasesh Desai, who serves as the Managing Director of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group, was an instrumental figure in the company's leadership.
With a wealth of experience spanning over three decades, Desai effectively oversaw the company's sales, marketing, and export divisions. The company boasts a substantial turnover exceeding Rs 1,500 crore.
Furthermore, Desai played a prominent role in the industry, serving on esteemed bodies such as the Federation of Indian Industry (CII). His remarkable expertise in tea tasting and evaluation was acknowledged and documented on the Wagh Bakri website. Additionally, he held an MBA from Long Island University in the USA, further underscoring his qualifications and commitment to the field.
