Nandita Sinha, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Myntra and head of Flipkart Fashion for the Walmart-owned Flipkart Group, is set to step down in the coming weeks. She is one of the most prominent business leaders in India’s e-commerce sector. As per media reports, Sharon Pais is likely to step up to her position from his current role as head of Flipkart Fashion.
Sinha was appointed Myntra’s CEO in 2022. Her career reflects a successful journey from her early life as a middle-class family daughter of Lucknow to her achievements at the helm of Myntra.
The Next Chapter
As Nandita Sinha prepares to exit, her next professional moves are currently unknown. In terms of succession, according to media sources, Sharon Pais, who currently heads Flipkart Fashion and is Myntra's former Chief Business Officer (CBO), is most likely to be promoted to lead new age fashion e-commerce giant.
Early Life And Educational Journey
Born in a middle-class family in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Sinha’s mother was a physics teacher who played a key role in developing Nandita’s analytical approach.
Sinha did her graduation in Ceramic Engineering from IIT BHU (now IIT Varanasi), entering a field that had few women practitioners at the time. She further solidified her expertise in business by earning an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) at Delhi University, which strengthened her foundation in consumer behaviour and strategic thinking.
Nandita's Career
Post completing her Management studies, Nandita began her career as a management trainee at Hindustan Unilever (HUL). Where she got change to travel to rural markets and interact directly with small business owners.
After HUL, she moved to Britannia Industries, getting a chance to explore the work being done in mass-market, branding and large-scale operations. Later, she co-founded MyBabyCart, an e-commerce startup, selling baby and maternity products. Although it didn't last long.
An 8-Year Journey with Flipkart
Nandita joined Flipkart in 2013 and spent over eight years in leadership roles within the company. She led several key categories, including health, beauty, FMCG, home, and furniture. He played a key role in Flipkart's flagship sales and category expansion.
