Zomato, Swiggy Hike Platform Fee:  Following the online food delivery platform Zomato's increase in its platform charge, Swiggy has also announced a hike in the charge. Earlier, Zomato increased the platform charge from Rs 5 to Rs 6. Following the path of its Rival, Swiggy also increased it by 20%. Now customers of both companies will have to pay a platform fee of Rs 6 on every order.

According to the report of NDTV, Both the companies- Zomato and Swiggy- have increased the platform fees for markets like Bangalore and Delhi. Three months earlier, both companies had increased the platform fee to Rs 5.

Why is the platform fee being increased?

Zomato and Swiggy have taken this decision to increase profitability. Both the companies started charging a platform fee from last year. Initially, both these food delivery apps used to charge Rs. 2 as a platform fee. Later it was increased to Rs. 3 and then to Rs. 4. After this, it was made 5 and now it has been increased by one rupee to Rs. 6.

Zomato's stock has reached a new all-time high today. After opening at Rs. 225 in the morning, it reached an all-time high of Rs. 232. In the last 5 days, it has given a return of more than 8 percent. This stock has soared 20% in one month, 70% in six months, and more than 83% so far this year. Due to the rise in shares and platform charges, the CEO of Zomato has joined the Billionaire Club.

The market cap of his company has reached Rs. 1.98 lakh crore. At the same time, Swiggy has not entered the stock market.
