The young fan said that his name was Kartikeya and revealed that he left his home at 4:00 a.m. and reached the Green Park stadium at 11:00 a.m. in a video that went viral on social media. After being asked as to whether his parents refrained him from traveling so much to the class 10th student said that they allowed him to do so.

But he couldn't watch Kohli bat on the first day as Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first under cloudy skies. The playing XI of the Men in Blue remained unchanged as the local boy Kuldeep Yadav wasn't included once again.

India scalped three wickets on Day 1
Indian pacer Akash Deep struck early as Zakir Hasan edged the ball and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was standing at gully took a stunning catch to dismiss him for a 24-ball duck. Akash then dismissed Mominul Haque and handed Bangladesh their second blow for just 29 runs.
He requested skipper Rohit to take the DRS review since the on-field umpire didn't listen to his appeal and then the third umpire gave the decision in his favor. Bangladesh's openers once again fell cheaply and it was skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque, who steadied the innings by stitching a partnership of 51 runs for the third wicket.
But R Ashwin broke this partnership as he got Shanto out by lbw during the second session. Just 35 overs were bowled on the first day as persistent rain led to the second and third sessions being called off. The Bangla Tigers scored 107/3 at stumps on the first day with Mominul Haque (40*) and Mushfiqur Rahim (6*) in the middle.
