Indian openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson scripted history during the third T20I against Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The duo helped India score 100 runs in the powerplay, with Abhishek smashing 72 off 22 balls and Samson contributing 24 off 14 deliveries.
Before this, India’s highest powerplay score in T20Is was 95/1, which they recorded against England at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium in 2025. Abhishek and Samson’s explosive start helped India surpass that record in style.
