The participation of the Afghan Cricket Team in the upcoming T20 Tri-Series involving PAK and Sri Lanka is under threat amid escalating military tensions between the two neighbouring countries - Afghanistan and Pakistan. As per a report by PTI, PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) has begun working on a different series in case Afghanistan's pullout from the series becomes official.
As per the ICC, the series is scheduled to be held from November 17-29.
"The PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, has asked the International Cricket Council to start working on an alternate plan as he wants the Tri-Series to go ahead," a source was quoted as saying by PTI.
As per PCB, Sri Lanka has been invited to feature in a three-match T20I series between November 11 and 15 before the tri-series.

Also, there are reports on social media stating that Pakistan and Sri Lankan boards are currently in touch for a three-match T20 series in Colombo between January 1-10.
If the series gets green-lit, it will be a tricky situation for Cricket Australia, as several Pakistan players have been signed for the flagship T20 league - the Big Bash scheduled to take place in December and January. As per another report, Cricket Australia was assured by PCB that the players will remain available and will get the NOC (No-Objection Certificate).
Babar, Rizwan and Shaheen To Make Maiden Appearance In Big Bash
Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Hassan Khan, Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali were all signed up by Big Bash teams, with Babar, Rizwan, and Shaheen set to make their first appearances in the T20 league.
"Obviously if the series with Sri Lanka is finalised, then either the selectors play without these players or the duration of their NOCs will have to be reconsidered by the PCB, meaning a disagreement with Cricket Australia," the source said.

After the PCB announced recently that it had suspended all NOCs issued to players for different leagues, Cricket Australia had got in touch to resolve the situation.
Another source said that CA officials had conveyed to the PCB that their teams had already spent millions on promo campaigns around the Pakistani players in the Big Bash.
