Ashes 2025: Cricket Australia has revealed the schedule for the 2025-26 Ashes series and has also made some changes to it. The series opener would be held at Perth's Optus Stadium from November 21-25 and then a Day-night Test would be held at Brisbane's Gabba from December 4-8 and this would be the second Test.

The third match will be held in Adelaide from December 17-21 and unlike earlier it will be a day game and not the day-night format. The Boxing Day Test would be held at the MCG, from December 26-30, whereas the last match would be held at the SCG between January 4-8.

One of the major changes in the schedule this time is the change in the venues. Brisbane, which usually hosts the series opener since 1982-83, would now be hosting the second match. It is the first time in 40 decades that the first Ashes Test match wouldn't be held in Brisbane.

Adelaide, who is known to host the Day-night Test match previously, would be hosting the third match as a day game due to a new deal signed between CA and the South Australian government, marking the match as an important holiday event, which will further help to increase its tourism.

Upcoming Test to be the last at Gabba?

The future of Gabba hosting matches has now come under scrutiny as the stadium is all set to undergo redevelopment for the 2032 Olympics. There are speculations that the 2025 Ashes series would be the last Test match at this venue and after that, not a single Test match has been scheduled for the next season as the stadium won't be available till 2030. This stadium has held three day-night Tests earlier, which also includes West Indies' historic win against Australia earlier this year but there are concerns around the durability of the pink ball at this venue as the bowlers have complained that the ball becomes soft in matches, which has also affected their speed.

Perth Test (West Test): Perth Stadium | Nov 21-25

Brisbane Test (Day/Night Test): Gabba | Dec 4-8

Adelaide Test (Christmas Test): Adelaide Oval | Dec 17-21

Melbourne Test (Boxing Day Test): MCG | Dec 26-30

Sydney Test (New Year’s Test): SCG | Jan 4-8
