Asia Cup 2025: India’s talismanic fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has made himself available for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, as per a report. The report in The Indian Express stated that the Senior Selection Committee of the BCCI (Board Of Cricket Control in India) was informed about Bumrah's availability 'a few days' ago. This also confirms that Bumrah is not suffering from any long-term injury, as suggested by some reports earlier.

Notably, Bumrah was rested from the fifth and the final test at the Oval.

The 31-year-old pacer played three out of five Tests as told by the Team's head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill before the start of the series. With India trailing the series 1-2 before the Oval test, Bumrah was rested despite being the trophy on line. Fans also anticipated if Bumrah has picked a new injury which forced him out of the test.

“Bumrah has informed the selectors that he will be available for Asia Cup selection. The selection committee will meet and discuss it when they meet next week," a source was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

15-Member Squad To Be Picked On This Date

The BCCI selectors under the chairmanship of Ajit Agarkar, will pick a 15-member squad for the tournament scheduled to take place in Dubai. The meeting will take place in Mumbai on August 19 to pick India’s squad for the T20 tournament. Interestingly, T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav will join the meeting as well.

Bumrah's availability will add to India's fast bowling arsenal. His last appearance in a T20I match was at the 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa, where his spell was instrumental in setting up a win for India.

The team is likely to travel to the Middle East to acclimatize early to the conditions.

“Instead of having a camp here, the team will fly three to four days early so that they can get decent practice before the tournament starts," the newspaper’s source said.
