Asia Cup 2025: After securing a commanding win against Pakistan, the Indian Cricket team is unlikely to make multiple changes with its playing XI for the dead rubber group league Asia Cup game against Oman. As per a report by PTI, talismanic Jasprit Bumrah is likely to get rested, considering India will need him for comparatively tougher opponents in the Super Four stage.

With matches lined up for September 21, 24 and 26, followed by the final on September 28, defending champions India could end up playing four matches with little gap if they qualify for the title clash.

The report added that whether Bumrah himself wants to skip the game is not known yet.

Arshdeep or Harshit Could Get A Game!

Either Arshdeep Singh or Harshit Rana is expected to take the field, with the former having the additional motivation of being close to reaching 100 T20I wickets.

The top and middle order would benefit from spending more time batting in actual match scenarios. India's initial matches, against UAE and Pakistan, were quite lopsided, and a proper match against Oman could assist in refining their skills before facing tougher opponents like Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in the Super Fours.
