Australia vs India 3rd ODI: Australian batting mainstay Travis Head has become the fastest batter in the country to achieve the quickest 3000 runs in the ODI format. Notably, he went past former teammate Steve Smith as he played a short yet quickfire knock at the top of the order in the ongoing third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
Normally, a 'thorn in the flesh' for any Indian side, Head has not been able to perform to his potential in the series so far. Notably, he had a start in Sydney but fell to Mohammed Siraj while cutting a delivery to backward point.
This was the ninth instance of Siraj dismissing Head in 19 innings across all formats.

In terms of the number of balls faced, Head took 2,839 deliveries, the fourth fewest behind Glenn Maxwell (2440), Jos Buttler (2533) and Jason Roy (2820).

The hero of the last match, Cooper Connolly, is holding the innings from one end as Australia are looking to close the innings on a high. Indian bowlers have been spot on with their lengths as they were successful in putting some brakes to Australia's innings.
