Ashes 2025: The England Test team was seen relaxing in Noosa Heads, which is a coastal town in Queensland, just three days after losing the second Test by eight wickets, as they are currently trailing by 2-0 in the ongoing Test series. The visitors lost the series opener within two days and then lost the second Test in the Gabba by eight wickets.
Since the hosts are leading this series by 2-0, the Ben Stokes-led side will now aim to win the remaining three matches.
They have taken some time off before gearing up for the third match in Adelaide, which will be held next week.
“We have got a couple of days in Noosa, which will be good to spend a couple of days casually and let the dust settle on what has been a pretty intense couple of weeks and start to plot and plan our way back into the series," Brendon McCullum told reporters in the post-match press conference.
This midway tour was planned even before this series began, but since the visitors are anyway going to lose the ongoing Test series before Christmas, this getaway is now being slammed heavily.
“I don’t think I would be going to Noosa. I am a bit old-school; it would be naughty boy nets. There are definite consequences to this. There always has been, there always will be," David Lloyd was quoted as saying to the BBC.
Ex-Australian cricketer has revealed that he won't mind the visitors going for this getaway and said that their attending training session was quite common.
“Please let the England players enjoy a few days off without the scrutiny; every side has a break mid-tour. When Adelaide comes around, let everything resume," he said.
Another incident has grabbed attention where a few English cricketers were seen hanging out at a Perth café and had been slammed despite having a 4-day break in Noosa.
According to Cameron Ponsonby, players like Brydon Carse, Harry Brook, and Zak Crawley went to a cafe for brunch, where Carse had dropped lots of money from his pockets, and the notes were then spread across the area.
