Bangladesh T20 World Cup Participation: After the International Cricket Council (ICC) board on Wednesday rejected Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) request to relocate Bangladesh's T20 World Cup matches from India to Sri Lanka, citing ‘absence of any independent security findings', it was reported that Bangladesh players will meet the national sports advisor.
According to recent developments in the row, as reported by Cricbuzz, the Bangladesh cricketers are likely to meet with the national sports advisor to share their views and discuss further steps.
Bangladesh have been pitted in Group C alongside England, West Indies, Italy and Nepal. The maqueer event will begin on February 7, with Bangladesh playing a match against West Indies in Mumbai in one of the three matches on the opening day.

"The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will proceed as scheduled with Bangladesh’s matches to be played in India," the ICC said in a statement on Wednesday.
"The decision was taken following an ICC Board meeting (via video-conference) convened to discuss the way forward after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) sought its matches be moved to Sri Lanka," the statement further read.
"The ICC Board noted that it was not feasible to make changes so close to the tournament and that altering the schedule under the circumstances, in the absence of any credible security threat, could set a precedent that would jeopardise the sanctity of future ICC events and undermine its neutrality as a global governing body," it further added.
In the official statement, the world governing body stated that they have held several meetings regarding BCB's stated concerns about the tournament’s security arrangements.
In all this chaos, BCB president Aminul Islam is still optimistic about Bangladesh's matches relocation while maintaining his stance that India isn’t safe for their players.
“I am hoping for a miracle from the ICC. Who doesn’t want to play in the World Cup? The Bangladesh players want to play the World Cup. The Bangladesh government wants Bangladesh to play the World Cup," he was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.
“But we don’t think India is safe for our players. A government doesn’t only consider the players, but they consider all, when it makes a decision," he added.
