LSG vs RR IPL 2025: Lucknow Super Giants' star batter Nicholas Pooran was seen consoling Avesh Khan's crying mother by speaking in Hindi after the fast bowler's brilliant performance against the Rajasthan-based franchise on Saturday. Avesh had bowled two brilliant death overs, where he successfully nine runs during the last over and helped the team win the match. Avesh dismissed batters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, and Shimron Hetmyer and registered match-winning figures of 3/37 in the four overs that he bowled.
Post the match, Avesh was seen talking to his mother on a video call, who was getting emotional post the victory. Pooran then interfered and asked Avesh as to why his mother was crying. Avesh then informed his mother that Pooran wanted to know why she was crying. Pooran then urged his mother to smile for his match-winning performance.
"Why are you crying? Nahi crying. Smile, smile, smile only," Pooran was heard as saying in the video.
Avesh too then told his mom the same thing.
"Rona Nahi, hasoo (Don't cry, smile)," he added.
Pooran then tried to say the same thing in Hindi although he failed miserably.
"Rona hans nahin," Pooran added.
When he tried to talk to his mother for the second time, he revealed that Avesh was a good player.
"Beta good, beta halo (Your son is good,)" Pooran added.

Avesh was then seen talking to his mom, who was still crying and then they were seen hugging each other.
What did Avesh say after the win?
During the post-match presentation, Avesh was asked as to whether he was trying to repeat Mitchell Starc's heroics during DC's match against RR. Avesh then emphasized that he didn't want to copy Starc and just wanted to become a good player. Avesh revealed that he just wanted to execute his plans brilliantly.
"I don't want to be Mitchell Starc, I want to become a good Avesh Khan. I want to bowl with clarity and execute my plans well. I don't look at the scoreboard and bowl, I trust my execution. The thought was to hold boundaries in the first 3 balls to put the pressure on the batters," Avesh told broadcasters during the post-match presentation.
