IND vs AUS, 1st Test Prediction: India will lock horns with Australia in the series opener of the highly-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy series from Friday in Perth. The Men in Blue are aiming to win their third consecutive Test series Down Under whereas the hosts will aim to take their revenge by trying to win this prestigious series.

Talking about the team combinations, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will be missing the series opener as he is currently on paternity leave and star batter Shubman Gill too won't be a part of the first Test match owing to injuries. With the 2025 WTC final at stake, the visitors will have to win four of these five matches. But they will face a daunting task this time around owing to the inconsistent batting lineup.

At the same time, Australia's top-order batting lineup too looks inexperienced and their dreams of reclaiming this series depend on players like Steve Smith, Travis Head, and Marnus Labuschagne. But their fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood will try to dent India's confidence and go all guns-blazing from the first match itself.

Moreover, the rivalry between these two teams is considered one of the most memorable in all formats since a few days back the Pat Cummins-led side celebrated the first anniversary of their 2023 ODI World Cup win against India. But for the Rohit Sharma-led side, this upcoming series can give them another chance to take their sweet revenge whereas the 2023 WTC final champions will try to break their losing streak against India in the longest format.
