IPL 2025 Mega Auction: The IPL 2025 mega auction auction is all set to be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah and it's just the second time that the auction is being held outside India. The IPL 2024 mini-auction was held in Dubai. About 574 players have made it to the auction shortlist and will be going under the hammer.
Of these 48 are capped Indians and 193 are capped foreign players.
Since all the 10 teams retained 46 players, there are only 204 slots, which are up for grabs as each team can build a squad of 25 players and they can include just eight overseas players and that's why there are just 70 slots available for them.

Here are some of the key auction rules ahead of the event:
What is an RTM card?
The Right-to-Match rule is being brought back at the auction this time since it was last used during the 2018 auction. This will help those franchises who didn't retain all of their six players before the mega auction and would like to retain a few of them from their old teams.
A franchise can use this rule to equal the highest price put on a player, who was part of that team in the last season. But this time, any team who puts the original price would be given one more chance to increase the price for that player after the RTM card comes into play.
If the team with the RTM option decides to equal the final price then they will be able to retain that player. And if they don't do that then the team which had put the original price would acquire the services of that player and the RTM card would be restored for the losing team.
Except for Rajasthan Royals and reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders, who had retained all their six players, all the other teams can use their RTM card at the mega auction.
The limit of retaining five capped players and two uncapped players would also apply while using RTM.
What is an accelerated auction?
Although 574 players were shortlisted for the final auction list, not everyone would be going under the hammer. The accelerated auction process will start after 116 players have been put under the hammer.
Ricky Bhui is the 117th player on this list and is also part of the second list of uncapped players.
The accelerated auction would be divided into two parts. For the first part, all 10 teams would be requested to nominate the players between 117 to 574 that they want to be shown at the auction. The second part would have all the unsold and unpresented players of the list of 574 players that all the teams nominated to be shown again.
Which players will be presented first?
The first two sets of marquee players would be going under the hammer first. All the sets consist of six players each.
After these 12 marquee players, a few capped players would go up for bidding, on the basis of their specializations- like batters, all-rounders, wicket-keepers, fast bowlers, and spinners.
And then after that uncapped players would be up for grabs, again depending on their specialization, and then after that the second round of capped players would go under the hammer.
The accelerated auction would then start after this process ends.
When will the IPL 2025 auction begin?
The IPL 2025 mega auction will begin on November 24. It will start at 3:00 p.m. IST and will be telecasted live on the Star Sports network and will be live-streamed on the Jio Cinema app.
