Champions Trophy 2025: India is on the verge of scripting history as they enter the much-awaited Champions Trophy 2025 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. They are just two wins short of extending their record as they have the chance to become one of the most successful teams in the history of the tournament.
The Rohit Sharma-led side will lock horns with Bangladesh in their tournament opener on February 20 and will then face arch-rivals Pakistan on February 23. After winning 18 Champions Trophy matches and if they win these two as well, then they will have achieved the milestone of winning 20 Champions Trophy matches, which is the most by any team.
India Leads the All-Time Champions Trophy Wins Chart
The Men in Blue, who are also two-time Champions Trophy winners are currently leading the list of teams with the most wins. Teams like England and Sri Lanka are behind them and although Sri Lanka has played 27 matches, their success rate is quite low. Both of them are quite behind the Rohit Sharma-led side's dominance. West Indies, who have also been a Champions Trophy winner, is lying at the fourth position after winning 13 matches and yet had failed to qualify for the mega-event this time.

At the same time, Australia, who are also the defending ODI World Cup champions, is lying in the fifth position after winning 12 matches. The Mohammed Rizwan-led side, who are also the co-hosts of the Champions Trophy 2025, is lying in the eighth position after winning 11 matches of the 23 that they have played.
India’s red-hot form ahead of Champions Trophy
The Rohit Sharma-led side is heading into the mega-event riding high on confidence as they recently clean-swept the three-match ODI series against England. And just when the former cricketers were doubting their ODI form, the Men in Blue bounced back brilliantly and have thus asserted their dominance ahead of the mega-event. They have sent warning to their opponents with the help of their brilliant performances and thus ignoring them would be a mistake as they aim to end their 12-year ODI title drought.
Bumrah’s absence was a major concern for India
But they will have to thrive in this mega-event without the services of their star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who was ruled out owing to a back injury. Bumrah did play a huge role in helping India win the 2024 T20 World Cup as he was adjudged the Player of the Tournament award. His absence is a huge blow for the Men in Blue but they will aim to reclaim the Champions Trophy title.
