IND vs NZ ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Team India's vice-captain Shubman Gill ended all the speculations around his availability for India's last group stage match against New Zealand, which will be held on Sunday in Dubai. Gill attended a private training session on the team's official off day on Thursday and was seen training with the support staff at the ICC Cricket Academy.

He was the only one to have missed the practice session on Wednesday as there were rumors that he was either injured or unwell. But the youngster was seen getting involved in a two-hour practice session with the support staff as the team gears up for their last group stage match against New Zealand.

Gill faced throwdown specialists on Thursday and also batted against a few net bowlers. He faced two fast bowlers and three spinners, who were part of UAE's cricket team as per PTI.

In the practice session on Thursday, India skipper Rohit Sharma chose to skip batting practice and was seen spending time with the strength and conditioning coach. Star batter Virat Kohli spent a lot of time in the training session as he faced fast bowlers and spinners while the whole team practiced under the lights.

Gill's fantastic form in the Champions Trophy

Gill is in sublime form this year and is the highest run-scorer as he has scored 406 runs after playing in five matches. He also had a brilliant three-match ODI series against England, where he scored two half-centuries and a hundred, and began his Champions Trophy campaign on a high by scoring a century against Bangladesh during the tournament opener.

He also scored a gritty knock of 46 runs against arch-rivals Pakistan and helped the team win the match by six wickets. The Rohit Sharma-led side will lock horns with New Zealand on 2nd March.
