IND vs USA, 2024 T20 World Cup: USA's Saurav Netravalkar has become a household name, at least for the cricket lovers given his epic performances in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. The hype around this India-born US cricketer has only increased after his brilliant performance in the match against India in New York on Wednesday. In an interesting turn of events, Netravalkar dismissed both the Indian openers -- Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli -- in his first two overs and left the cricketing fans impressed.

Netravalkar, who is a software engineer, has been in sublime form in the ongoing tournament. He showed his bowling prowess against India, where he took the wickets of star batters quite comfortably. Kohli, who tried to play his cover drive, edged the ball towards wicket-keeper Andries Gous and left both Rohit and the fans shell-shocked. His onslaught didn’t end there as he dismissed the Indian skipper in the next over at just three runs.

The Indian cricket fans got worried after both Rohit and Kohli got out which led to a meme fest on social media, where an Indian-origin bowler rattled team India’s batting lineup. The social media went into a frenzy and shared memes that talked about Netravalkar’s journey from playing for India in the U19 World Cup, his domestic cricket days, and his shifting to the USA to pursue cricket again.

Here are some of the social media memes which went viral:

Netravalkar's bowling prowess emphasized the statement he gave just before the match, where he talked about bowling to both Kohli and Sharma. However, Netravalkar’s efforts went in vain as India qualified for the Super 8 stage after defeating the USA by seven wickets on Wednesday. Although India’s formidable batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were dismissed cheaply, it was Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube, who built a match-winning partnership of 65 runs and led the team across the line.
