RR vs MI IPL 2026: The Mumbai Indians had created an unusual bowling record on Tuesday when they faced the Rajasthan Royals during the rain-induced match in Guwahati. Both players and fans were left annoyed after waiting almost 3 hours for the match to start. And when the weather conditions improved, the MI bowlers were taken to the cleaners.

The Rajasthan-based franchise had a flying start after they had won the toss and chose to bat first during the 11-over match. Star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal kept smashing Deepak Chahar as he had scored 22 runs during his first over. This became one of the most expensive first overs ever bowled by a MI bowler in the history of the tournament.

Chahar was picked instead of Luke Wood, who had given away 19 runs during IPL 2024 against the Delhi Capitals in Delhi. Australia's Jake Fraser-McGurk had hit three fours and one six during the first over and gave the Delhi-based franchise a flying start.

And then Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had left Jasprit Bumrah shocked by batting aggressively. By playing against one of the world's best fast bowlers, the teen sensation had smashed the very first ball for a huge six and had set the foundation of his brilliant knock. He then hit another six during the same over and had left Bumrah completely stunned.

Yashasvi and Sooryavanshi stole the show with their brilliant strokeplay and helped the host post a mammoth target of 150 runs during the rain-induced 11-over match. Jaiswal spearheaded the batting attack as he scored an unbeaten knock of 77 runs off 32 balls, whereas Sooryavanshi's quickfire knock of 39 runs off 14 balls added momentum.

This opening pair stitched a partnership of 80 runs in just five overs, as they had smashed nine sixes and had taken the bowlers to the cleaners since the first ball. Jaiswal had set the foundation of this target by scoring 22 runs during the first over, and then Sooryavanshi left Bumrah shocked by smashing two sixes in his over.
