CSK vs DC IPL 2025: Chennai Super Kings have now reacted to rumors about MS Dhoni's retirement in their style on their official social media account. Speculations were rife on Saturday during their IPL 2025 match against DC to be his last IPL match but the franchise posted a meme from a famous Tamil film, which showed their humourous side to the much-talked-about topic.
MS Dhoni's parents had also come to watch the match at the Chepauk stadium, which only intensified the rumors. This was the first time that Dhoni's parents- Pan Simgh and Devika Devi, had watched an IPL match in a stadium, which made the moment emotional and almost convinced the fans that it would be his last match.
But, CSK took to their official X account and shared the meme by writing the caption 'no context'. Although, the caption might have proved cryptic for some those who know the team's sense of humor got the actual message.

For those who don't know, the meme was taken from a comedy scene of a famous Tamil movie, where the hero is seen talking to the villagers and requires them to gather around and not talk much about the issue.

The rumors around MS Dhoni's retirement started when Michael Hussey, who is CSK's batting coach, reckoned that the star wicket-keeper batter would have led the side for the clash against DC. He did confirm that Ruturaj Gaikwad hasn't regained his full fitness owing to a wrist injury which he had sustained during their clash against RR last week and Hussey admitted that they do have Dhoni as a back-up as the captain.
But Ruturaj Gaikwad did lead the team as he had recovered well in time for the clash against DC. But the hosts were sloppy with their fielding and had leaked 183 runs on a surface which was double-paced.
DC skipper Axar Patel won the toss and chose to bat first and took advantage of the pitch conditions. Opener Jake Fraser-McGurk was dismissed for a duck by Khaleel Ahmed in his first over. But KL Rahul, who had replaced Faf Du Plessis as an opener scored a match-winning knock of 77 runs off 51 balls. Abhishek Porel then scored a gritty knock of 33 runs off just 20 balls whereas Axar Patel, Tristan Stubbs, and Sameer Rizvi also made significant contributions.
While chasing, openers Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway were dismissed early and then skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad too got during the powerplay. CSK were reeling at 59/3 after nine overs and the required run rate only went up.
