IND vs SA 1st Weather Updates: The young Shubman Gill-led India is all set to take on World Test Championship (WTC) champions South Africa in a two-match Test series, starting on Friday.

The first Test of the series will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday, a ground which is all set to host its first Test after six long years.

Traditionally, Eden Gardens has produced rank turners, typically offering early movement for bowlers. With a high possibility that the spinners will play a tremendous role in the game, India might want to play all four spinners (Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja).

Meanwhile, South Africa are ready with their heavy three quality spinners in their ranks: Senuran Muthusamy, Simon Harmer and Keshav Maharaj.

According to the latest weather reports, fans will enjoy the five days of action without any rain interruption. The temperatures will likely range between 18°C in the morning and 28–30°C during the day.

Before settling into a batting-friendly surface, Kolkata’s Eden Gardens is known to be most conducive to pace. The Eden Gardens pitch appears to be balanced, delivering something useful for seamers, batters, and spinners alike.

India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate, on Wednesday, stated that batting should be easier on the Kolkata pitch for the first two days of the game.
