England cricket team vs South Africa national cricket team match scorecard: South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl first against England in the third and final ODI match at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Sunday, September 7.
The match witnessed a slight delay in the start as the rain got a bit heavier, and the pitch was put under the covers by the ground staff. However, at the time of writing, it seems unlikely that the match will witness a reduction in any overs.
South Africa headed into the match with high confidence, having already bagged the three-match series and are 2-0 up. They will be looking to produce another dominant effort in this dead rubber contest and complete a 3-0 whitewash, whereas the hosts, England, will be aiming to produce an improved effort for the consolation victory.

Notably, the Proteas sealed the series with a 5-run win at Lord's. "We are going to bowl first, an early morning game, and there could be a bit in the pitch. Two changes for us - Wiaan Mulder is back after his illness. We've been playing some good cricket, have had a nice feeling of working together," Bavuma said at the toss.

England, on the other hand, also introduced a change as Jamie Overton came in for Saqib Mahmood. "We would have bowled first as well. Just rotation, as Saqib misses out, just be aggressive with both bat and ball. Looks like a good wicket, would have fancied our chances of chasing," England skipper Harry Brook said at the toss.
