New Delhi | Jagran Sports Desk: ESPN Cricinfo on Wednesday picked Charismatic former india captain MS Dhoni as captain of ODI and Twenty 20 teams of the past decade, while skipper Virat Kohli was named as the leader in Tests. The criterua by a 23-member panel for selection was a minimum of 50 Tests or six active years in the longest version of the game while it was 75 ODIs and 100 T20s for the limited-over teams.
Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who is sidelined since thr rise of wrist spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav, was the only other Indian to make it to the Test XI, which also featured former England opening batsman Alastair Cook and New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson.
Kohli scored 7202 runs in this period at an impressive average of 54.97 while Ashwin took 362 wickets at 25.36. While Kohli was the lone Indian to feature in teams across all formats, his deputy Rohit Sharma (7991 runs) was also named in the ODI XI.

Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah found a place, alongside Dhoni and Kohli in the T20 XI, largely dominated by Caribbean players. As many as five West Indies players were named in the team, including 'Universe boss' Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine and Dwayne Bravo.
Former skipper Mithali Raj and highest wicket-taker for women in ODIs-- Jhulan Goswami were named in women's team for noth ODIs and T20s. Inspirational cricketer from Australia, Meg Lanning was named the captain of the side.
Last week, MS Dhoni and Kohli were named as captain of ODI and Test team of the decade by Cricket Australia.
On the professional front, Kohli will next feature against Sri Lanka in the limited-overs series beginning January 5 while MS Dhoni is likely to make a comeback after Australia's tour of India, i.e., next month.
