GT vs SRH IPL 2025: Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 38 runs during their IPL 2025 clash on Friday. They are lying in the second position in the points table after winning seven matches of the 10 that they have played till now.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru is right behind them in the points table even though they have the same points but have a poor NRR.

But star all-rounder Rashid Khan has had an underwhelming season for the Gujarat-based franchise. He did have a hard time taking wickets consistently and the batters are smashing huge sixes and fours in his over quite comprehensively. He has been conceding lots of runs but the team management is still backing him to bounce back to form as the race to playoffs intensifies.

During a media interaction on Saturday, Rashid Khan talked about their performance during the ongoing season till now, what were the challenges that he has faced, and what the future holds as they inch closer to the playoffs. Since they are inching closer towards playoffs, Rashid talked in detail about how their campaign has turned out and what the future holds.

He was asked that since he was an out-and-out wicket-taker and wants to take wickets on every ball but batters these days are trying to play defensively in his overs and try to avoid giving him wickets so easily, so what he thinks in that situation and how does he plan to take wickets in that situation. "Well, you know that is something which I don't think anyone's mind will be to take wickets. Yes, in my mind I do think that I do have to take wickets and that is something which not under my control I think if you have to take the wicket then you have to bowl well in the right area and for me it quite simple you know I just have to hit in the right area consistently and wickets will come in time as long as I keep the process easy and I hit the right area. That's gonna be good for me if I hit the area consistently. But sometimes if you think a lot as to why I am not taking wickets and why this is not happening, it does affect your bowling and your performance. You know if the wicket is coming from the other end, I try my best start as possible and nowadays, how the wicket is behaving, I feel like bowling and a wicket and a dot ball becomes a wicket for you and I think it quiet important taking wickets. Sometimes you know you try your best but you don't get those wickets and sometimes you bowl a very bad ball and start taking wickets. So taking wickets, that does happen but more important is how much control you have over your line and length and for how long you have that control and I think consistency brings a huge, huge difference in your. Nowadays it's not just about taking wickets, it's also about bowling one good over and putting extra pressure on the opponent. So, my job is just to try my best to be more economical and try to bowl those good overs in the middle and help those fielders" Rashid was quoted as saying to Jagran English in the media interaction.

He then emphasized how the team is focused and will aim to continue their winning streak as the group stage nears its business end. “We’ve done well overall, but we should not take anything for granted. Every team is fighting for a spot in the playoffs, and it’s a tough race. The competition is tight, and there’s still a lot to play for,” he told a reporter.

Rashid also talked about their upcoming match against Mumbai Indians and admitted that it would be a challenging game for them. The Hardik Pandya-led side has been in sublime form as they are on a six-match winning streak and this clash has become one of the highly-awaited games for them. He is well aware that matches like these can define their campaign. “It’s going to be a massive challenge for us. Mumbai has been playing well, and it’s matches like these that determine where you end up. We’ll need to bring our best to the table,” he concluded.
