Hardik Pandya, India's star all-rounder is gearing up to return to action as he continues to recover from his ankle injury.

Pandya has resumed bowling in the nets and is keen to make a comeback on the field, having been out since ODI World Cup 2023 due to the injury he sustained during India's league match against Bangladesh in Pune.

After undergoing rehabilitation for a considerable period at Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy (NCA), Pandya recently began his on-field training.

The 30-year-old returned to Vadodara, the city he started his cricket journey from 17 years ago as he is likely to be playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Pandya shared a video of his practice session on X (formerly Twitter), giving insights into his recovery process. According to Pandya, he has been giving “his all every single day” to get back on his feet.

A few days ago, Pandya shared a series of pictures on Instagram where he was seen performing yoga and meditating at his residence.

Notably, Pandya is now the captain of Mumbai Indians and will be leading the five-time champions for the first time in the IPL 2024 after he replaced Rohit Sharma for the role.

He has already lifted the title once as skipper when he led the Gujarat Titans to their maiden title in 2022. Under his captaincy, Gujarat reached the final of the 2023 IPL as well but failed to overcome MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings.

Talking about his injury, Pandya felt discomfort while bowling against Bangladesh in the World Cup last year and was ruled out of the rest of the tournament after initial treatment.

He has been out of action since and missed India's T20I series against Australia at home followed by the South Africa tour.

It was his absence, that forced the BCCI selectors to bring back Rohit to lead the side in the recently-concluded T20I series against Afghanistan at home.
