Rohan Bopanna, Australian Open 2024: Rohan Bopanna, India's tennis sensation, etched his name in the history books as he became the oldest player to win a Grand Slam in the Open era.
Bopanna along with his Australian partner Matthew Ebden clinched a 7-6, 7-5 win over the Italian duo of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori to clinch the men's doubles title in Australian Open 2024 on Saturday, January 27.

This is Bopanna's second grand slam title after the 2017 French Open win with his Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski in mixed doubles.
This was also the maiden Grand Slam title for Bopanna and Ebden as the pair finished as the runner-up in the US Open last year after losing against the American pair of Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury in the final.

This has been a remarkable start to the year 2024 for Bopanna as he recently became the oldest player in history to claim the No.1 ranking in doubles.
As the nation erupts in joy for Bopanna's monumental achievement, the cricketer fraternity also joined to congratulate him.
Cricketing great Sachin Tendulkar was one of the first ones to wish the tennis veteran on remarkable feat.
