India National Cricket Team vs England Cricket Team Scorecard

Harshit Rana's ODI debut was a dream come true as he claimed an impressive three-wicket haul while Ravindra Jadeja spun a bewitching spin web to help India bundle out England for 248 in the first ODI of their three-match series at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur on Thursday. 

Jadeja and Rana stood out as the top performers among India's bowlers, helping to dismiss England for a modest 248 runs in 47.4 oversPacer Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel bagged a wicket apiece.

England's batting effort was largely propped up by Jos Buttler and Jacob Bethell, who both scored fifties, but ultimately lacked sufficient support to post a more substantial total.

After being asked to bowl first, India's bowlers struggled to contain the English batters, conceding numerous boundaries in the initial 6-7 overs. England got off to a flier, reaching 71 for no loss in only eight overs, but India fought back with regular wickets to not allow the visitors run away with momentum.

Phil Salt was particularly aggressive, blasting his way to 43 off 26 balls before a miscommunication led to his dismissal. England's innings suddenly slumped from 75 for 0 to 77 for 3.

However, Buttler steadied the ship with a powerful 52, while Jacob Bethell impressed with his innovative sweeps and reverse sweeps, scoring 51.

Although both Buttler and Bethell fell soon after reaching their milestones, Jofra Archer's quickfire 21 ensured that England surpassed the 240-run mark.
