Following Pakistan's humiliating Test match loss to Bangladesh, cricketer Ahmed Shehzad launched a scathing attack on Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

Shehzad expressed his frustration on social media, questioning Naqvi's understanding of the sport. He criticized Naqvi's leadership, referencing the chairman's earlier promise to revolutionize Pakistan cricket, saying that fans were still awaiting the promised "surgery" to reform the team.

"When you lost to India in the T20 World Cup 2024, to keep people quiet, you said that you will do a surgery on Pakistan cricket. But you failed to do it. You lied to people just like others in the past. What did you think? That you would buy time? That after you beat Bangladesh in the Test series, people will go a little quiet and then you will implement your changes, but that did not happen," Shahzad said in his video on Twitter.

Notably, after Pakistan's disappointing exit from the T20 World Cup 2024 following a loss to India, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi vowed to overhaul the team's structure, likening the necessary changes to "surgery" on Pakistan cricket. True to his word, Naqvi oversaw significant technical staff changes, including the removal of Director of Cricket Mohammad Hafeez and selector Wahab Riaz, in a bid to revitalize the team's performance.

Pakistan's struggles in Test cricket at home continue unabated, despite the recent overhaul of their technical staff. The team has now gone without a Test win on home soil since 2022, suffering series defeats to England and Australia. This latest loss to Bangladesh, their first-ever Test defeat to the Tigers, only adds to the woes of the Pakistan team, highlighting the need for further improvement.

"The people that have been running Pakistan cricket for the last 12-15 years, they are still calling the shots. It has culminated in Bangladesh beating Pakistan for the first time in a Test match. I have never seen this in my life," Shahzad further said.
