IND vs USA, 2024 T20 World Cup: Stuart Law, who is the head coach of USA admitted that Saurav Netravalkar was quite confident after he bowled the super over against Pakistan which helped him to perform brilliantly against India. Netravalkar dismissed Virat Kohli for a golden duck in New York on Wednesday.
He also took the wicket of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma (3) and gave his tea a flying start while defending a below-par target of 110 runs. On the back of his brilliant bowling prowess, Law lauded Netravalkar and admitted that if he had taken Rishabh’s wicket early in the game, then they would have won the match.
“No, it wasn't, and he was running hot. He was full of confidence after the Super over against Pakistan as well. He bowled beautifully in that game also. And look, he got the ball to do a bit. That ball nearly bowled Rishabh Pant, if that had happened there and then, we know we could have been sitting here telling a different story. But look, he's a class act,” Law told reporters in the post-match press conference.

He also revealed that he calls Netravalkar ‘Iceman’ after the Super over against the Babar Azam-led side and emphasized his ability to take wickets against India.
“Call him the Iceman now after that Super over. And look, when he's running hot like that, one more wicket at that stage could have been the difference. So, we needed to take wickets. We needed to bowl India out basically to win the game. We were never going to contain them with the power hitters they still had in the shed. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel are still to come. We needed to bowl them out so wickets up front were crucial. We just didn't quite get enough in that power play,” he added.
USA is still in contention to qualify
It should be noted here that Netravalkar grabbed the limelight after successfully defending 18 runs against Pakistan and helped his team script history by creating a huge upset. He registered figures of 2/18 against the Men in Blue and left them reeling at 10/2. It was Suryakumar Yadav (50*) and Shivam Dube (31*), who led the team towards victory by stitching a match-winning partnership of 67 runs and helped the team reach the Super 8 stage. At the same time, the Monank Patel-led side can still qualify for the Super 8 stage after beating Ireland by a huge margin on Friday.
