ICC ODI Rankings: India's star batter Rohit Sharma's reign as the No.1 ODI batter has ended just a few weeks after he had scored a hundred in Sydney against Australia, as New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell has now claimed this position after smashing a brilliant hundred against the West Indies. Mitchell smashed his seventh ODI ton in the series opener against West Indies, which helped him to surpass Rohit and become the No.1 ODI batter for the first time in his career. He had become just the second Kiwi batter to have achieved this milestone. Glenn Turner was the other New Zealander to have done so in 1979.

Although there are Kiwi batters like Martin Crowe, Andrew Jones, Roger Twose, Nathan Astle, Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill, and Ross Taylor, who have entered the top five, no one was able to become No.1, and Mitchell has now joined Turner in that elite list.

Pakistan cricketers too have made significant improvements in their rankings after their 3-0 series win against Sri Lanka. Mohammad Rizwan has jumped to the fifth position and is lying at the 22nd rank, whereas Fakhar Zaman has jumped to the fifth position and is lying at the 26th rank. Spinner Abrar Ahmed has jumped 11 positions and is lying at the ninth rank, and fast bowler Haris Rauf jumped five positions and is lying at the 23rd rank. Afghanistan's Rashid Khan is the No.1 ODI bowler.

After the first Test match between India and South Africa, there have been some changes in the ICC Test rankings as well. South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma had entered the top five for the first time as he had scored a gritty knock in Kolkata. India skipper Shubman Gill jumped two positions even though he was injured in this match.

Bangladesh players also improved their rankings after their Test against Ireland. Najmul Hossain Shanto jumped to four positions and finished at the 34th rank post his ton, whereas Mahmudul Hasan Joy jumped to 19 positions and finished at the 74th position post his second hundred.

Star India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah reclaimed his position as No.1 Test bowler as he had taken a six-for in Kolkata. His fellow teammates Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja also made significant improvements in their rankings. South Africa's Marco Jansen jumped to 11th position as a Test bowler and also climbed five positions, whereas Simon Harmer rose to fifth position post his brilliant performances.

The Kiwi players also improved their rankings in the shortest format, where Tim Robinson jumped to eight positions and finished at 15th, whereas Devon Conway jumped to 7 positions and finished at 48th rank. Jacob Duffy jumped one position in the T20I bowler ranking list.

Pakistan players also improved their rankings in T20Is after their home tri-series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. Mohammad Nawaz, who was the Player of the match in the series opener, jumped 4 positions and finished at 27th ranking, and jumped to eighth position in the all-rounders list after scoring 21 runs and taking 2 wickets.
