ICC ODI Women's World Cup 2025 Points Table: England started their ODI World Cup campaign with a stellar win against South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Friday. After being invited to bat first, South Africa succumbed to their third-lowest total in ODIs, managing just 69 in 20.4 overs. Linsey Smith remained the pick among the others, securing figures of 3/7. Also, Charlie Dean, Sophie Ecclestone, and captain Nat Sciver-Brunt picked up two wickets each.
Notably, Linsey Smith was awarded the 'player of the match' award for her exploits in the match.
In chasing just 70, England openers Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones remained unbeaten to kick off their campaign with a victory. Both Beaumont and Jones negotiated the swinging deliveries well as they pounced on the loose ones. Beaumont and Jones completed the target in 14.1 overs, sealing a 10-wicket win and returning unbeaten with scores of 21(35) and 40(50), respectively.

Ten South African batters failed to cross the single-digit score. They remained clueless about dealing with the ball's swing, and their reckless shot selection rubbed salt on their existing wounds.
