England vs West Indies, ICC T20 World Cup 2026: England's senior spinner Adil Rashid scripted his name in the history books on the back of an impressive performance against the West Indies in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, February 11. Rashid has become the first spin bowler from England to take 400 wickets in T20s.
Rashid, who is England’s highest wicket-taker in T20Is, dismissed Roston Chase as his 400th T20 wicket. He trapped Chase in front of the wickets on the third ball of the 10th over after the West Indies were put into bat first. Rashid’s 400th wicket in T20s came in his 358th match. The star leg-spinner was the standout performer for England as he took two wickets for just 16 runs in his four overs. West Indies went on to post a big total of 196/6 in their 20 overs.

He is the second English bowler to take 400 wickets in the 20-over format of the game. The record for taking the most wickets in T20s by an English bowler is in the name of Chris Jordan. In 431 T20 matches played so far for more than a dozen teams, Jordan has picked up 446 wickets.

Talking about the match, Sherfane Rutherford was the top run-getter for the West Indies, as he played an outstanding unbeaten knock of 76 runs in 42 balls with the help of two fours and seven sixes. On the other hand, Jason Holder (33 off 17), and Roston Chase (34) came up with crucial contributions.
