IND vs PAK, ICC T20 World Cup 2026: The India vs Pakistan match in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 is all set to be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, February 15. Ahead of the much-awaited fixture, India will be facing Namibia in their second game of the competition at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday.
After the weeks of controversy, the IND vs PAK match was finally given a nod by the ICC and the Pakistan Cricket Board. While there has been a lot of talk around the upcoming face-off between the arch-rivals, considering the recent sequence of events, Tilak Varma announced that the Indian men’s cricket team is ‘already prepared’ and ‘excited’ to go up against the Men in Green.

"We were excited to play, and we were already prepared for the clash against Pakistan. When we got the news, we got excited for the match," Tilak Varma said at the pre-match press conference ahead of India’s clash against Namibia on Thursday.

A few days back, the Pakistan government announced that their team would boycott the match against India as a gesture of solidarity for Bangladesh, who were excluded from the tournament by the ICC. However, after the continuous communication between all the parties involved, the PCB informed the ICC that the team would participate in all its scheduled matches, ending the uncertainty surrounding the marquee fixture.
Despite initial doubts about his T20 World Cup participation, Tilak Varma made a stunning return from injury. However, he had a disappointing outing against the USA in the previous fixture and managed to score 25 runs in 16 balls.
"I am really happy to be back in the World Cup side. Good routines in the last few weeks have helped me be here. The aim here is to win the World Cup. Always ready to contribute to the team. It didn’t feel like I was returning after a forced break when played in a practice game," Tilak Varma told the media on Wednesday.
India defeated the USA by 29 runs in their first match, whereas Pakistan got the better of the Netherlands and the USA to remain at the top of the group A.
