IND vs NZ Final, ICC T20 World Cup 2026: India will be up against New Zealand in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 8. India have a chance to add another silverware to their trophy cabinet. A win against New Zealand will give India a second ICC title inside 12 months, having won the Champions Trophy in March last year.

They have a chance to create history by becoming the only team to win three T20 World Cups and defend their title. They previously won the tournament in 2007 and 2024. The Men in Blue made it to the final after a thrilling 7-run win against England in the semifinal, which turned out to be a high-scoring contest. This will be India's fourth appearance in the T20 World Cup final.

Having lost against South Africa on a black soil track two weeks back, the Indian team management might opt for a red soil pitch for the final. India have been the most dominating and consistent team in the T20I format over the past couple of years, having not lost a single bilateral series under Suryakumar Yadav's captaincy. Suryakumar not only has the chance to become the first among equals to defend a World Championship. He has led the side impressively for the last two years, even though he has hardly walked the talk as a batter himself, especially on big days and against big nations.

He can change it all on Sunday in what will be the most defining moment of his entire career. His every failure will be summarily forgotten should he click on what is expected to be a warm evening. On a given day, a Finn Allen, a Lockie Ferguson or a Matt Henry knows how to punch way above their weight. New Zealand thrashed South Africa by 9 wickets in the semifinal on the back of Allen's record-breaking century in the run chase.
