ICC Women's ODI Rankings: South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt has replaced India's Smriti Mandhana to become the new No.1 batter in the ICC Women's ODI rankings after a memorable outing in the ICC Women's World Cup 2025. India defeated South Africa in the final to lift their maiden Women's WC title on Sunday.
While South Africa missed out on the trophy, Wolvaardt had a historic outing in the tournament with the bat and scored 571 runs in nine matches at an average of 71.38 on the back of three fifties and two centuries. By registering the highest-ever tally in one WC edition, Wolvaardt moved up two spots to the summit with 814 rating points. It's the career-best rating for her.

On the other hand, Mandhana also had a memorable campaign and produced a consistent performance throughout the tournament to play a key role in India's WC triumph. She was dropped to the second spot in the rankings with 811 points. She was the second-highest run-getter in the tournament with 434 runs at an average of 54.25.

Australia's star all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner stands third with 714 points. India’s match-winner in the semi-final against Australia, Jemimah Rodrigues, made a huge nine-spot jump to 10th. Australia legend Ellyse Perry, who played mostly as a specialist batter in the tournament, jumped to three spots to be joint-seventh with Sophie Devine. Others in the top-10 remained steady.

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur moved up four places to 14th, while Phoebe Litchfield, who also scored a ton in the final, got up 13 spots to 13th.
Deepti Sharma’s five-wicket haul in the final and Player of the Tournament performance at the World Cup weren't enough for her to move up from the fifth spot in the bowlers’ rankings. England spinner Sophie Ecclestone remained top while the Proteas’ Marizanne Kapp moved second.
However, Deepti jumped in the all-rounders rankings as she bagged the fourth spot after overtaking Annabel Sutherland. South Africa’s Nadine de Klerk entered the top-10 in 10th.
Wolvaardt was also named in the Women's World Cup's Team of the Tournament, having scored centuries in both the semifinal and the final. Talking about Mandhana, the left-handed batter has had an incredible 2025 as she has smashed multiple batting records so far.
