Bangladesh pacer Taskin Amhed is doubtful to take part in the ICC World Cup 2023 clash against South Africa at Wakhede Stadium in Mumbai due to a shoulder injury.
Taskin was ruled out of the clash against India due to his shoulder injury and it is learnt that the pacer is yet to attain full fitness. He did not feature in the opening training session at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. He spent the day with the physio on the sidelines doing rehabilitation work.
"Let us see what happens today (in the practice session) but he looks doubtful for the next game against South Africa as he is yet to recover fully," Cricbuzz quoted a member of the team management as saying on Monday.

"Even if we don't get him (Taskin) against South Africa, we are expecting him to be available when we start our campaign in Kolkata," he said.
Bangladesh are hopeful of Taskin's participation in the match against Netherlands at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on October 28.
Taskin's shoulder injury occurred during their 2022 tour of South Africa. He was advised that he needed surgery after failing to finish the first Test but team management decided against it in order to focus on the 2022 T20 World Cup.

He felt uneasy during the match against England. Before the match against New Zealand, he expressed his discomfort to head coach Chandika Hathurusingha while batting in the nets.
Apart from Taskin, captain Shakib Al Hasan is also set to return after missing the match against India due to his quadriceps injury. He is expected to play the match against South Africa on Tuesday as he spent time in the nets session but the final call will be taken after accessing his bowling and running sessions.
