Devdutt Padikkal scored a steady half-century as the first unofficial Test between India A and Sri Lanka A ended in a draw after rain disrupted play on the final day on Sunday.

India A resumed Day 4 at 48 without loss in their second innings. Padikkal anchored the innings with a well-made 67 off 101 balls, hitting five boundaries. Ayush Pandey added 38, while Harsh Dubey chipped in with 29 to help India A reach 189 for 8 in 57 overs before declaring. The visitors then set Sri Lanka A a target of 312 runs.

Left-arm spinner Dilum Sudeera was the standout bowler for Sri Lanka A, finishing with impressive figures of 5 for 49 in the second innings.

Sri Lanka A began the chase positively but managed only 70 for 2 in 15 overs before persistent rain brought play to a halt, leaving the match with no result.

Opener Pawantha Weerasinghe scored 10, while Nuwanidu Fernando remained unbeaten on 16. Ashen Bandara also remained not out after making 18.

For India A, Jammu and Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi, who had taken four wickets in Sri Lanka A's first innings, picked up one wicket in the second innings. Harsh Dubey also claimed one wicket as both teams had to settle for a draw.

The second unofficial Test between India A and Sri Lanka A will be played at the same venue from July 2 to July 5.
