England vs India Test Series: Gautam Gambhir delivered a fiery speech full of passion in the Indian dressing room after the team's memorable win in the fifth and final Test against England at the Oval on Monday.

India registered incredible victories at Edgbaston and the Oval as the five-match Test series ended in a 2-2 draw. The victory marked a significant moment in Gambhir's coaching tenure, where his credentials in Test cricket were facing massive criticism after an unprecedented 3-0 whitewash against New Zealand at home before being humiliated 3-1 in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) against Australia.

The visitors produced a thrilling effort, especially with the ball, as Mohammed Siraj stepped up the wrap things up on the final day of the series. The India head coach, Gambhir, praised the team's performance and backed the players to continue improving. He went on to point out the importance of the team building the right culture while urging players to enjoy a well-deserved off period from the spot.

"The way the series panned out is all an outstanding result. Congratulations. So remember, you keep getting better, we'll keep working hard, we'll keep improving our areas because if we keep doing that, we can dominate Test cricket for a very long period of time," said Gambhir in a video shared by BCCI.TV.

"People will come and go, but the culture of the dressing room should always be like that; people want to be part of this culture. That is what we want to create. Good luck, enjoy yourself. You can take a couple of days off. And you deserve every bit of it. What you guys have achieved, you deserve every bit of it. Congratulations," Gambhir added.

Notably, Gambhir took charge of the Indian team in July last year and completed one year in the top job during the England tour. His tenure has seen significant changes with the Test side undergoing a challenging transition phase following the retirements of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravichandran Ashwin from the longest format of the game.

Shubman Gill was named the new Test captain and had a memorable outing in his first assignment as the skipper with the bat. He was the top run-getter in the series with 754 runs to his name in five matches at an average of 75.40 on the back of four incredible centuries.

Despite being 1-2 down and injury issues in the squad, the young team's impressive display has earned massive praise from across the cricketing fraternity.
