IND vs AFG 3rd T20I: Rohit Sharma-led India will walk on the field at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday to not only whitewash the series against Afghanistan but also to create a world record, breaking arch-rival Pakistan's T20I feat.

Currently, India lead the three-match series 2-0 after winning consecutive matches in Mohali and Indore by identical margins. A win against Afghanistan in the third and final T20I of the series will enable the hosts to register a 3-0 whitewash in the first-ever limited-overs series between the neighbours. If India complete a clean sweep against Afghanistan, they will topple Pakistan (eight) to create history and become the first team to register nine whitewash in the bilateral T20I series.

India will play their final T20I fixture in Bengaluru before the T20 World Cup 2024 in June. With the T20I series already in the bag, Men in Blue will look to test their bench strength to prepare for the T20 showpiece event.

In the series so far, returning batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have failed to play any starring knock in the first two matches. Rohit got out on ducks in both matches while Kohli struck 29 off 16 balls in the second T20I after missing the series opener due to personal reasons.

For India, all-rounder Shivam Dube has made a big impact in the series with his batting and bowling. The swanky batter scored 123 runs including two half-centuries and also bagged two wickets.

Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is the second-highest scorer in the series with 68 runs to his name in the second T20I after missing the first game due to a sore groin.

Meanwhile, Axar Patel has picked four wickets in two T20Is, the most by any bowler in the series. Pacer Arshdeep Singh comes in second spot with three dismissals to his name.

Sanju Samson is likely to get a chance in place of wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma while Avesh Khan is expected to replace Mukesh Kumar in India's playing 11.
