Jasprit Bumrah added another major milestone to his already impressive T20 career during the first T20I between India and Afghanistan. The Indian fast bowler completed 350 wickets in T20 cricket after dismissing Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the very first over of the innings.

Bumrah achieved the historic feat with his second delivery of the match and gave India an early breakthrough.

Gurbaz had tried to give Afghanistan a great start but had no answer to the bounce of the ball, which was a short-of-a-length delivery and ended in a catch at slip by Abhishek Sharma.

The wicket was notable from more than one perspective, just like the start that India had to their innings.

The dismissal of Gurbaz meant that Bumrah became only the third Indian bowler to complete 350 T20 wickets, joining the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in this exclusive club.

Bumrah Gets Gurbaz In First Over

In just two deliveries into the innings, Bumrah showed what he was made of to Afghanistan's punters.

The bowler bowled a short ball that unexpectedly rose higher into the air than the batter. The opener swung his bat to ensure a rich collection of runs, but the higher bounce of the ball made it difficult for him to keep his shot down.

The ball took a deflection off the bat and eventually went high up towards Abhishek Sharma, though the angle at which the ball was coming to him was highly awkward.

Gurbaz departed after facing just two deliveries, handing India an early advantage in the contest.

Bumrah Completes 350 T20 Wickets

Bumrah achieved another record for himself after this dismissal. With Gurbaz's wicket, the India pacer completed 350 wickets in T20 cricket and became only the third Indian bowler to reach the mark.

He now joins Chahal and Bhuvneshwar in an elite group of Indian bowlers to have achieved the feat.

The milestone once again underlines Bumrah's consistency and longevity in the shortest format. From the new ball to the death overs, the fast bowler has continued to be one of the most reliable wicket-taking options across T20 cricket.

Early Blow For Afghanistan

Gurbaz's early exit hurt Afghanistan's chances as they were expecting to begin their innings positively after being sent to bat first.

However, Bumrah's early wicket put the Afghanistan batting order in trouble right away. After Gurbaz's exit, Sediqullah Atal arrived at the crease when India was looking for further breakthroughs in the Afghanistan innings.
